This is the world’s first fully electric backhoe.
It was released by CASE at CONEXPO 2020.
It’s power and performance are equivalent to a diesel-powered model but saves up to 90% of standard fuel and maintenance costs. The battery can last a typical 8 hour day and requires 8 hours of charging.
It costs more upfront than a diesel equivalent, but CASE say it will pay for itself in 5 years.
It was developed in collaboration with electric equipment specialist, Green Machine Inc, and electronic and mechanical systems engineers, Moog Inc.
